Demand for High-End Health Care on the Rise in China!

“The original health care system cannot meet the demands of the wealthy market. This is an opportunity for investment, especially as the government is now encouraging and promoting the development of high-end health care” – Ministry of Health Medical Services Regulatory Secretary Chen John Jiu, July 2012

China is home to the 4th largest number of millionaires in the world and Beijing is home to the greatest number of wealthy people in China, including 179,000 millionaires and 10,500 people considered super-rich. Those with higher incomes, thanks to a rich diet, urban living, and less reliance on manual labor or exercise, often suffer from a higher incidence of chronic illnesses such as cancer, heart disease, liver disease, respiratory illness, diabetes and stress. These people are increasingly concerned about their health and finding access to health care services that meets their needs.

On June 3 2012 Research Institute Fortune issued a white paper titled “China Wealth Health” stating that although wealthy Chinese are paying more attention to their health about 68% of them are suffering from sub-health conditions. The paper concludes that there are over 30 million individuals of high net worth and emerging wealth in need of improved medical services.

Director of the Chinese Doctor Association, Yin Dakui says, “Most people want to be able to enjoy better medical services. Chinese and foreign capital investors are coming together to meet the needs of the population with a higher standard of medical care.”

To help meet this demand, in November 2012 the international company WA Optimum Health Care established their new specialty health care facility in Beijing’s Fragrant Mountain National Park. Their Chairman, Dr Shu Li, Harvard PhD comments “The location, architecture, quality of medical care and standard of service were all designed with the needs of patients in mind. Privacy, discretion and excellent follow-up care are crucial. Of course the most important factor is the level of personal medical attention given to each patient, which is why we have invested in bringing the best doctors from within China and around the world here.”

With a flagship center already operating in Shanghai for over 2 years, the international management and medical teams of WA Optimum Health Care are very familiar with the realities of meeting the demands of the market as well as navigating the regulations and licensing issues that have historically challenged other international health care providers that have tried to enter Chinese market. WA Optimum Health Care Vice Chairman Derek Muhs said, “With the implementation of recent health care reforms in China, we are pleased to be one of the first foreign companies providing a gold standard of health care services in this market. The growth opportunities over the next 5 years in the health care sector in China are very exciting.”

The WA Center in Beijing is a multi-discipline medical center of excellence specializing in the treatment and prevention of serious chronic conditions such as infertility, diabetes, liver disease, joint degeneration, chronic pain and sexual dysfunction, among others. There is also an advanced cosmetic medicine department that offers rejuvenation and cosmetic improvements performed by leading cosmetic surgeons from Switzerland, USA, South Korea and China.

At the WA Beijing private opening event Mr Wang, President of the “China Industry-University-Research Institute Collaboration Association” presented WA with a plaque endorsing them as a “China Clinical Research Center for Functional Anti-Aging Regenerative Medicine”.

Countless Chinese people go abroad annually for health care services, especially for anti-aging and cosmetic treatments, cancer screening, to give birth and to get treatment for chronic diseases. But with the government’s health reform and support for private health care facilities, more and more Chinese are opting to stay home, where they can now have an international standard of health care in their own language and essential follow-up maintenance program with their personal doctor.

According to a September 2012 report by McKinsey & Company, China’s health care spending is projected to grow from $357 billion in 2011 to $1 trillion in 2020. China remains one of the world’s most attractive markets, and is by far the fastest growing of all the large emerging markets.

Mr Muhs, quoted earlier, disclosed “We are looking closely at some exciting new opportunities for expansion and acquisition in the health care sector in China. With our 3-5 year IPO on the horizon this will be a very strategic expansion so as not to compromise the medical service that the market is demanding, and that we envision is the future of a new standard of health care in China.”

Date Fruit Benefits

Dates, the staple food of the Middle East countries is a sweet fruit. Date palms or Phoenix dactylifera (scientific name) produce clusters of oval, dark, reddish-brown drupes called dates, below their fronds. The skin of the dried fruit is wrinkled and covered in a sticky, waxy film. Dates are eaten fresh or dried, whole or incorporated in various Mediterranean and Middle Eastern cuisines.

Served mainly as desserts, these date fruits are generally chopped into tiny slices and scattered across cakes and puddings to ameliorate their flavor. Some people mix date paste with yogurt, milk, bread, or butter to enhance their flavor. Dates are also deseeded and stuffed with several sweet fillings like apricot, etc. Besides the versatility of date preparation and consumption, these dry fruits also feature various nutritional values. Dates are opulent in vitamins, minerals, natural fiber, and are also cholesterol-free. This is why date fruit benefits are widely known across the globe.

Date Fruit Health Benefits

Dates are loaded with various nutrients, right from minerals like calcium, potassium, magnesium, etc. to vitamins like vitamin A, vitamin B complex, vitamin C, etc. Moreover, dates are low in fat and high in protein and fiber content, which makes them healthy snacks between meals.

Energy booster…
Dates are a high source of energy, with 100 grams of dates yielding about 300 kcal of energy. They are packed with 29 grams of natural sugars (glucose, sucrose, and fructose), 3 grams of dietary fiber, and 31 grams of carbohydrates. Therefore, the tiny date fruit can be appropriately described as an energy-boosting dry fruit.

Date fruits have been considered very important in the Islamic culture. Muslims are seen to break their fast by consuming dates. This is because after fasting the body requires an energy-boosting food item, and dates suit the part perfectly. The natural sugars in dates are quickly converted to energy in the liver , which is used by the body. Moreover, breaking the fast with a date also helps prepare the digestive system for the meal ahead, thereby assisting in digestion.

Assists Digestion
Dates consist of 20 different kinds of amino acids which facilitate the digestive process. This is why dates are easily digestible, and furnish the body with required energy for physical activities in about half an hour, after consumption. Moreover, breaking your fast with dates will help you avoid overeating. The factor responsible for human hunger is shortage of sugar in the blood. Consumption of dates takes care of this shortage, and pacifies the feeling of hunger with its sugar content. Moreover, the dietary fiber and other nutrients in dates, gets absorbed by the body quickly, which prevents people from overeating after a day of fasting.

Helps heal intestinal disorders…
Dates have been found to promote growth of friendly bacteria in the intestines. Moreover, the nicotine content found in dates is also believed to help cure intestinal problems. Pregnancy is a time when a woman experiences extreme bloating, constipation and other intestinal problems. Dates are an excellent remedy for such intestinal disturbances. However, women with gestational diabetes must control the intake of dates, unless otherwise specified by the obstetrician.

Help alleviate constipation…
Loaded with soluble and insoluble fibers, dates not only help improve bowel movements, but also clears toxins from the gastrointestinal tract. In order to benefit from the laxative properties of dates, one should soak dates overnight in water. The soaked dates should then be ingested in the morning along with the water to gain the actual advantages. The roughage provided by dates increases bowel movement, thereby solving constipation issues. Pregnant women are advised to eat dates to alleviate constipation, because it is not only a high-fiber snack, but also contains lots of nutrients that are good for the growing fetus.

Helps gain weight…
While most of us are trying to cut down our weight, there are some people who are desperately trying to gain weight. Dates are high in calories, with one date corresponding to 20 to 60 calories (depending on the type). Including 5 to 6 dates in one’s daily diet can help increase body weight. Dates, unlike junk food are a healthy way of gaining weight. If you don’t like to eat dates as they are, you can also add dates to cakes, puddings, and other baked items to reduce the sugar content in them.

Soaked and pureed Medjool dates, when combined with applesauce and added to cake batter, not only add moisture and texture, but also do away with refined sugar, added in the cake. Dates also add fiber and increase the nutritional content of the baked food item. If the dates purchased are not soft, microwave them along with a little water for a minute. Blend the softened dates in a food processor.

Dates and Labor…
Dates are also seen to strengthen the uterine muscles and facilitates childbirth. A study (2007-2008) was conducted at Jordan University of Science and Technology, on pregnant women to analyze the link date fruits have on labor. 69 women were asked to consume 6 dates every day, for the last 4 weeks before their due date. On the other hand, 45 other women were also included in the study, who were not given any dates. After analysis of all their births, it was found that the women who consumed dates showed more cervical dilation, along with higher percentage of spontaneous labor in of women, as compared to those who didn’t consume dates. The study noted that dates helped labor and spontaneous labor. However, more research has to be conducted in this field.

Helps improve heart health…
Not only are dates sodium-free, but are also high in potassium. When dates are consumed, the ratio of sodium to potassium is balanced, due to the high potassium in it. When the ratio of sodium and potassium is maintained, the pressure applied on the walls of the arteries is not high. Dates are also cholesterol-free, which again is an added advantage. Thus, dates help in controlling the blood pressure. Since dates are low in saturated fat, they are considered as healthy food for the heart. Research reveals that higher potassium intake of about 400 mg can reduce the risk of strokes by 40%.

Dates for Diabetics…
Diabetics have to keep in consideration the glycemic index (GI) of food items, because the lower the GI, the better it is for their bodies. As we know, there are over 300 varieties of dates, all having different GI. On an average dates have a glycemic index of 103, which is very high. However, research conducted at Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, United Arab Emirates University (2001) on three varieties of dates; khalas, barhi, and bo ma’an dates reveals GI of 35.5, 49.7 and 30.5 respectively.

The study shows that dates can also be considered as low GI foods, provided you eat these varieties. To be on the safer side, if you do not know the glycemic index of the dates you are eating, it’s best to restrict its intake. Nevertheless, dates are the ideal choice when blood sugar drops. It raises the blood sugar levels quickly during hypoglycemia. To make it a fulfilling snack it’s best to combine dates with walnuts or pecans.

Rich in Antioxidants
Free radicals formed after metabolic activities, damage body cells, thereby causing cancer. However, antioxidants stabilize these free radicals and prevent them from causing damage to the cells, thereby helping in preventing cancer, heart diseases, etc. Dates are high in phenolic compounds and flavonoids, which possess antioxidant activity. Thus, dates indirectly help slow down or prevent cancer.

Dates keeps anemia away…
Every 100 grams of Medjool dates corresponds to 0.90 milligrams of iron. Consuming dates on a regular basis can provide the body with the iron content it needs. Pregnant women are often advised to consume dates, so as to prevent iron-deficiency anemia in mother and child. However, since vitamin C is required for iron absorption, it’s important to consume vitamin C-rich foods as well. Anemia patients are advised to eat several dates on a daily basis to raise their level of iron in the blood.

Strengthens Tooth Enamel
Dates contain fluorine, which is an essential mineral to slow down the process of early tooth decay. Fluorine is also known to keep plaque at bay by strengthening the tooth enamel. However, many people are of the misconception that tooth enamel can magically reverse tooth decay. This is not true. Tooth enamel consists of hydroxyapatites, which when brought in contact with fluorine forms hydroxyfluoroapatites, which is resistant to decay. This clearly means that fluorine helps prevent further tooth decay, but cannot reverse the decay process.

Increases Libido
The problem of sexual weakness can be countered by dates, as they are beneficial in increasing the body’s sexual stamina. One needs to soak handful of dates in goat’s milk overnight. Next morning, grind the dates in the same milk and add a mixture of honey and cardamom powder. This yields a tonic capable of increasing sexual endurance.

Dates are nutrient-rich brown nuggets, that not only satiate the palate, but also provide a variety of nutrients to the body. Consuming a couple of dates when one’s hungry will be a good idea, because it will help prevent binge eating. Enjoy the sweetness of dates along with its numerous health benefits!

Could that Sore Male Organ Come from Drinking Wine?

For centuries, wine has been associated with amorous feelings and activities, which is perhaps one reason why some form of wine is often involved in romantic dinners. However, there are some people who think wine can be a double-edged sword for men, for they believe that drinking wine may contribute to a sore male organ. Men who place an appropriate emphasis on their male organ care may be concerned with this theory. But is there any truth to it?
The ancients

One of the most beloved figures in ancient Greek mythology is Dionysus, the god of wine. Although Dionysus had many followers, the ones most often associated with him – and with his beverage of choice – are the satyrs, half-men and half-goats, whose sensual drive is legendary. (Dionysus himself was no slouch in the sensual activity department either, for that matter.) So it seems that the wine-sensual activity connection goes back at least a few thousand years.
But if a sore male organ were a typical result of imbibing wine, wouldn’t that fact have become more widely-known after so many years? And wouldn’t it act as some deterrent to men enjoying a bottle with their lady love?
One way of looking at it
Of course, many men might agree there could be a sore male organ and wine connection, but one which doesn’t imply that something in the wine itself causes the soreness. Instead, stating that wine increases the likelihood of actions that result in a sore member is something with which many men might agree.
For example, if one means that when a man drinks wine, he feels more desire and is more likely to engage in rough aggressive sensual activity with a partner, and that this roughness results in soreness, then that is a connection that might ring a bell with many guys. By the same token, there have undoubtedly been many men who have consumed a considerable amount of wine, assuming partner-based sensual activity was on the way, and been disappointed. Still primed, however, they may have self-stimulated with a vengeance (and without appropriate care and lubrication), thus awaking the next morning with both a sore head on their shoulders and another in their midsection.
The wine itself
But what about the wine itself causing soreness? Well, the reasoning behind this theory is that some wines may affect the ability to produce appropriate amounts of a lipid compound known as prostaglandin. Prostaglandins are found in almost every tissue in the body and have many diverse effects. Some scientists believe prostaglandin in the member is especially useful for creating elasticity in the male member. When there is insufficient prostaglandin present, the manhood will still swell when excited, but the lack of sufficient elasticity will create pain and soreness.
All of this at present is theoretical; clinical trials have not been conducted to provide more evidence to back this up.
If a man develops a sore manhood when drinking wine, he might want to try different wines and see if some affect him that way and others don’t. Or he may want to limit his wine intake when anticipating sensual action.
A sore male organ, whether due to wine, overuse or other reasons, will heal more quickly if it is healthy, and regular use of a superior manhood health crème (health professionals recommend Man1 Man Oil, which is clinically proven mild and safe for skin) is an excellent method for maintaining that health. It helps to use a crème that contains a range of ingredients, including both vitamin C and a potent combination of moisturizers. Vitamin C is involved in collagen production, and collagen is one of the factors which contribute to greater elasticity of tissue in the member. In addition, well-hydrated skin is supple and better capable of stretching in the desired manner when tumescence is present. A crème with both a high-end emollient (such as Shea butter) and a natural hydrator (such as vitamin E) is well poised to provide appropriate hydration to the member.

Consider These Male Enhancement Points To Have Greater Sexual Health

There are quite a few reasons to why you should think about improving your sexual health. There might come a day when you and your partner are ready to make a baby, and in order to become successful, you would need to have a high sperm count, and a sperm should also be of good quality. So, you can quickly see how these factors are crucial when it comes to increasing the chances of making a baby with your partner. Your sexual health will also play a crucial role in helping you and your partner to have fulfilling lovemaking sessions, as you will find that your stress levels won’t increase, because performing well will become an automatic process.

Unfortunately, a huge population of men struggle to genuinely enjoy sexual activity or to make a baby, the key reason for this is because of very poor sexual health. The most common problems that men with poor sexual health suffer from is having difficulties in getting an erection, having difficulties in maintaining that erection, not having good quality sperm, or having a low sperm count. What you will find is that most of the reasons for having poor sexual health is due to the type of lifestyle that you live. You will also find that your sexual performance is negatively affected when you become overly stressed.

Your diet may also play a crucial role in terms of your own sexual health, because if you eat the wrong foods, you can begin to have poor blood circulation and blood flow, and this in turn will have a direct impact on the quality of your sexual performance. Your penis relies on blood easily having the ability to pass into it to have an erection, as soon as this becomes difficult, you may start having problems obtaining a harder erection and maintaining it long enough during sex.

A very effective way to help increase the quality of your sexual health is by taking male enhancement supplements. The reason for this is because these supplements will be able to provide you with the right minerals and nutrients in order to help your penis have better blood flow, as well as to have healthy tissue, which in turn will increase the quality of your erections, and to maintain those erections for a longer period. Good quality male enhancement supplements can also play a huge role in the quality of your sperm and sperm count. However, you have to be careful not to believe a lot of the hype that is found online from companies who sell these supplements. What they will not do is enlarge your penis, and they will not work overnight. In fact, if you only depend on male enhancement supplements, then you will find that there will be hardly any benefits coming from them, as it is crucial that you still combine natural male enhancement supplements with the right lifestyle, which is to eat healthy, exercise on a daily basis, and reduce your stress levels.

In the end, your goal is to find the right combination of factors to help increase and maintain your sexual health. By taking male enhancement supplements on a daily basis, and combining this with other important factors such as eating healthy, exercising regularly, and finding ways to keep relaxed and calm, you will be able to have more fulfilling lovemaking sessions with your partner. The reason for this is because your blood circulation will increase, and you will find that you have more endurance to last longer in bed. Last but not least, you will be able to increase the chances of making a baby with your partner, because the quality of your sperm will increase, and you will also be creating the perfect environment in which to get a higher sperm count.

Congenital Heart Disease and Physical Therapy!

Congenital heart diseases refers to the structural (anatomical) or physiological defects in the normal functioning of the heart as a result of birth defects that may be diagnosed soon after birth or may take years to produce full blown cardiac insufficiency. Valvular heart defects form the most common variety of congenital cardiac defect that is associated with high morbidity and mortality in adult years if no management options are employed. This is because the metabolic demands of the body increase with growth and development that poses more pressure on the heart leading to cardiac failure or circulatory deficits. With overall prevalence of 26.6%, it was suggested that only 12.1% cases can be detected by clinical evaluation. Among the most prevalent congenital cardiac defects, ventricular septal abnormalities comprise 17.3% of all congenital anomalies followed by atrial septal defects (6.0%) and other less common cardiac diseases. The mortality is highest with cyanotic heart diseases.

According to the research statistics reported by Julien I.E Hoffman, over 1 million patients were born with congenital heart defects (during 1940 to 2002). Considering the quality of medical services and surgical/ medical advancements, Hoffman suggested that the total number of survivors with mild heart disease (who may reach well into adulthood) is 750,000 with mild heart disease, 400,000 with moderate heart disease and 180,000 with severe disease (with treatment). Without any management or treatment the survival rate may fall to 400,000 with mild disease, 220,000 with moderate disease, and 30,000 with severe heart disease, suggesting very high mortality.

Congenital heart diseases are also associated with stunted growth and development in children marked by poor weight gain, failure to thrive and frequent hospitalizations while growing up. In addition, these children also develop frequent episodes of shortness of breath, rapid heart rate (also known as tachycardia) and attacks of fatigue associated with decreased exercise endurance.
Physical therapy and mild exercises are helpful in the growth and development of children born with congenital heart disease. It is extremely important not to initiate exercise therapies in these children without seeking the guidance from registered physical therapists who work in coordination with the pediatric cardiologist to deliver best exercise regimens in order to optimize health without overloading the heart. Generally, children and adults can perform moderate static exercises of mild intensity without any complications; however, healthcare providers strongly restrict weight lifting in pediatric aged children and even in adults born with cardiac defects. Caution should be maintained to avoid lifting weight of more than 25 pounds in children and more than 50 pounds in adults. Physical therapist and pediatric cardiologist must assess every child individually and advice customized exercises and treatments according to the severity of illness and overall physical health. Treadmill test, bicycling and echocardiography are mainly used as assessment tools as the risk of sudden death increases if vigorous activity is attempted in children born with aortic stenosis, cyanotic heart diseases and coarctation of the aorta.

Hardcore or traditional gym exercises increase cardiac output that may overload the heart and may increase the risk of complications or sudden cardiac death. On the contrary, exercises performed under the guidance of physical therapists serve multiple benefits. Exercise or physical activities are needed in order to build stamina and maintain exercise endurance especially in school going children who engage in physical activities with peers. Physical therapy improves the pace of mental and physical development that allows children to develop healthy social relationships with peers, muscle and motor coordination and mental concordance. Physical therapy and periodic assessments are also needed in order to know the physical capacity of child and to track worsening of cardiac defect with age (in order to avoid accidents or unwanted incidents at schools) by restricting excessive physical activity. In some children, healthcare providers delay surgery until the child crosses some developmental milestones; however, it is very important that until then child stays in best possible physical shape to lessen the risk of surgical complications.

According to the scientific peer-reviewed journal- American Family Physician there are 5 stages of physical activity recommendations of Physical Activity in Children with CHD, ranging from no restriction to extreme limitation of physical activity (wheel chair bound).

Without any physical therapy, the progression into the severe disability is fairly high. It is the duty of parents to promote healthy physical activity but make sure to prevent contact sports or vigorous activities that may affect cardiac functioning.

Computers and Health

The Law
The number of computers in the workplace has increased rapidly over the last few years and it is now quite normal for most staff in voluntary organisations to be exposed to computer usage. The Health and Safety at Work Act lays down legal standards for computer equipment and requires employers to take steps to minimise risks for all workers. Workers have received substantial damages for injuries caused through use of computers where the employer could have foreseen the risk but did nothing about it. The main regulations covering the use of computer equipment include:
Health & Safety (Display Screen Equipment) Regulations 1992
Management of Health & Safety at Work Regulations 1992
Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1992
Workplace (Health, Safety and Welfare) Regulations 1992 Improving health and safety practice should be taken seriously, although it need not take much time or expense. Measures employers should take include:
Understanding the law – make sure someone in your organisation has a health and safety brief covering all areas, not just computers.
Being aware of the health risks – the government officially recognises some of the risks although there are some grey areas you’ll need to make up your own mind about.
Assessing the risks – using procedures set out in the law – be systematic and get help if you need it. Get a health and safety audit done by a competent organisation if necessary.
Taking steps to minimise the risks – this may only involve taking simple measures.
Training all users to recognise the risks – if people aren’t aware of the dangers they can’t take adequate precautions to protect their health.
Taking users views seriously – if users feel there is something wrong there often is.The Risks
With the increase in computer use, a number of health and safety concerns related to vision and body aches and pains have arisen. Many problems with computer use are temporary and can be resolved by adopting simple corrective action. Most problems related to computer use are completely preventable. However it is important to seek prompt medical attention if you do experience symptoms including:
continual or recurring discomfort
aches and pains
burning sensation
or stiffnessSeek help even if symptoms occur when you are not working at your computer.

Laptop computers can present particular problems due to small screens, keyboards and inbuilt pointing devices (e.g. a small portable mouse or touchpad). Prolonged use of laptops should be avoided. If using a laptop as a main computer (i.e. use as a normal desktop computer in addition to use as a portable), it is advisable to use the laptop with a docking station. This allows an ordinary mouse, keyboard and monitor to be used with the laptop. The main risks associated with using computers include:
Musculoskeletal problems
Eye strain and a greater awareness of existing eye problemsRashes and other skin complaints have also been reported, although it is thought these are caused by the dry atmosphere and static electricity associated with display units rather then by the display units themselves. There are potential risks from radiation though this is a contentious area.

Compost Food Waste For A Healthy Environment

Food is the basic necessity of any living organism. But we also often come across food that are wasted on everyday basis. The best way to use the waste food somehow is by composting it. In fact, composting food waste has many advantages. If you are fond of planting, then you can make it healthier by composting food. The best thing is that you do not even have to exert a lot of effort to do that.

Before we dig into the discussion of the ways to recycle waste food, a better idea is to find out the reason why we may want to do this. You might have this question in mind that if the food waste is biodegradable, then why there is any issue with simply putting the waste food in the garbage bin and letting it to get decomposed at the landfill.

If you are familiar with the techniques of basic home composting, then you also must be knowing that coffee grounds, fruits, egg shells, grains, vegetables, leaves and grass clippings come under the compostable section. However, the food items that you must avoid putting in the composting bins are dairy, bones, meat, and fats. In fact, no matter those are school food waste items or commercial food waste items, waste food can be recycled. But before you proceed further, you must know what is the necessity of recycling waste food.

Composting is also called as a natural way to recycle. It can also be called as a biological procedure of disintegrating the organic waste like the manure, kitchen waste, grass trimmings, worms, leaves, newspaper, coffee grounds, and many more. These are broken up into the humus-like substance with the help of numerous micro-organisms like fungi, bacteria, actinomycetes, all in the presence of oxygen.

Composting can be described as a way of nature to recycle each of the materials that are biodegradable. We will find it in our daily life, but to make the process shorter. But we need to make efforts to ensure that it comes up with significant results. The best thing about it is that it can help the entire society to experience a healthy living.

It has been seen that the composting of food waste is much more as compared to composting any other kind of organic matter. It needs the apt ingredients to be mixed so as to come up with healthy soil which is appropriate for planting.

However, while continuing with the process, we also need to keep the fact in mind that apart from food, the process also involves Nitrogen, Oxygen, Hydrogen, and Carbon. For a better outcome, it needs to be balanced.

If you eat animal meat, and look for composting it, then you must be aware of the fact that those meat are harder when it is about composting. If the animals are non-vegetarian, then the meat will be even more harder. Therefore, the period it takes to decompose it is much more than that of the vegetable trimmings. The other thing about decomposing meat and even dairy products is that they produce foul smell, thus, need to be buried deeper. It will also help you to maintain a good relation with your neighbors and also not bother anybody who passes by.

Therefore, if you want to opt for such process of composting, then get in touch with a reliable provider. There are many companies these days that offer such services. All that you need to do is to find out the company that can help you to get so.

So, if you think your daily food is getting wasted, do not just throw it anywhere, and compost it for a better purpose.

Common Mausoleum Issues and Remedies

Mausoleums, in general, tend to be beautiful buildings, standing as stately monuments to the loved ones who are layed to rest in them. These ornate buildings, commonly adorned with bronze and gold accents, marble columns and stained glass windows, are designed and assembled to mirror a sense of dignity, serenity, and peace. There are two common complications with many mausoleums, however, which, undesirably, rob the serene and peaceful quality from the families of the interred, and make a mockery of the deceased bodies. These two conditions are mausoleum smells and coffin, or phorid flies.

Mausoleum smells are from the decomposition process, which occurs naturally as the body undergoes the decaying process. Morticians frequently call the offending bodies, “leakers”. These mausoleum odors can be terribly overwhelming, and as a result of the embalming chemicals and the gases coming as a result of decomposition, they can coupled with that pose a health hazard to workers and visitors.

The second challenging issue that is prevalent for most mausoleums is the phorid or coffin fly. These terrible pests are about one fourth the size of the average house fly, and while they’re in the larval stage of growth, coffin flies feed on the decomposing bodies within the crypt spaces. When they emerge from the casket as mature flies, they also pose a dreadful risk in spreading disease when they land. Frequently, they are in search of moisture, and it is very common for them to fly into the eyes, nose and mouths of visitors or workers in the structure. The flies tend to be so small that a lot of folks confuse them as gnats, and insiders in the mausoleum business do not want visitors to find out the reality about exactly where the flies are emerging from.

This is what one visitor to a mausoleum in Glendale, California had to say, “Possibly the most shocking of all is the Mausoleum. I stepped inside and knew immediately something was wrong. There the temperature inside the complex was around 80 degrees. I heard what sounded like insects swarming in one of the walls… many of the vaults have had leakage problems where they have sealed them with shower caulk. As I scanned the flashlight around the room, I saw horrible … damage. There was a discolored substance that ran from the marble plates down to the floor.”

The good news is, you can find options to battle both mausoleum odors and coffin flies. For decades, most inside the industry have tried to utilize deodorizing sprays, chemical pest control, fly papers, and large fans to cover the odors and to try to manage the phorid fly infestations. These sprays and chemicals, etc. have frustrated mausoleum caretakers and other employees, because they are generally ineffective, and in addition, they develop into a health hazard in the structure, creating a noxious environment that’s harmful to employees and visitors alike. An additional remedy is an electronic unit that mausoleums utilize to neutralize odors and to deal with the coffin flies, which from industry claims, is likely to make the task less difficult for the mausoleum proprietors and staff because it is effective at controlling the flies and will completely get rid of odors on a nightly basis while the building is vacant. Using the electronic method, there is additionally the security in knowing that there aren’t any harmful toxins being spread throughout the building, which makes for a “eco-friendly” solution which is a great deal more healthy for personnel and guests.

Why not help preserve the dignity, peace and serenity for the passed and for their families, and help keep these beautiful structures as the memorials that they were designed to be. We grieve at the losing of a loved one; there is certainly no reason to have to perpetually suffer when paying respects. If you happen to be in a mausoleum and you observe the little coffin flies or if you smell any foul odors, without delay register a written grievance with the mausoleum owner and with the Funeral Consumers Alliance,or in the case of a Catholic cemetery, to the church, or the office of the local bishop.

Common Health Problems in a Welsh Corgi

Particular care is needed to keep Welsh Corgi in shape and avoid over feeding them. Due to their short legs and long body they tend to gain weight easily which can pose a problem with their joints in the future. One good way to keep them in shape is swimming, as it doesn t put pressure on their back or joints. The Welsh Corgi is also prone to spinal problems due to the length of its spine, which can lead to early arthritis, particularly for those that are overweight. Biophysical stresses are a renowned problem for these breeds on their spine, which is directly related to the weight of an over-sized belly. This problem has lead to other secondary diseases such as osteoarthritis.
Unfortunately they are also predisposed to developing a disease called DM (Degenerative Myelopathy). A test for this has been developed and is available through the Orthopedic Foundation for Animals. Further research is still being conducted as to why some Welsh Corgi s develop DM and others don t. Pembroke s in particular are at risk for hip dysplasia, Von Willebrand s disease and other eye disorders.
Von Willebrand s is a blood clotting disorder which is only detected by a DNA test. At the moment it is only eliminated by avoiding breeding carriers or affected Pembroke s together. One parent must be clear to avoid the disease.
As for eye problems, both parents need to have passed CERF rating at least one year before breeding commences, to avoid such problems as persistent papillary membranes (PPM), retinal dysplasia or cataracts. Progressive Retinal Atrophy is a common eye condition with Welsh Corgi s among other breeds that have protruding eyes. This eye condition is characterized by the deterioration of retina cells which ultimately leads to a progressive loss of sight starting approximately around 5 years of age. Glaucoma is another eye disease that can lead to permanent blindness by predetermined genetics. Glaucoma is the excessive pressure inside the eye which can damage the eye s internal structures. If glaucoma is not treated quickly permanent loss of vision or complete blindness is inevitable.
Hip dysplasia in these dogs is poly-genetic, where more than one set of genes may be involved. It is important to have as many ancestors tested as possible as well as a fair rating in OFA. This is the best way to avoid dysplasia, but unfortunately there is not a completed guarantee.
Maintaining the recommended weight of Welsh Corgi s will ensure longevity and a healthy life. These breeds are known to live up to 12 – 15 years. So if you re looking at having this breed, ensure you stick to a regular diet and exercise regime without over feeding, so you and your family can enjoy the company of your dog for many years to come.
